The Chinese Minimum Wage

A brief news item on CCTV news this morning that several Chinese provinces are raising minimum wage standards. Somehow, this story intrigues me because it seems a perfect example of the gap between what the law aspires to and what happens in reality; as low as the minimum wage must be (I've heard that it's somewhere between 3.5-4.5 RMB an hour, 40-60 cents an hour) in reality I'm sure that many people are paid less...more to come on this...a few links I found:
